Changing Lives, One Story at a Time
"I thank Pacific Islanders in Communications for the opportunity that I have had to learn more: improving myself, advancing my skills, and enhancing my ability to share with others what it means for me to be a Pacific Islander and why."
Siana J. Burgess, Producer
Digital Media Initiative 2002
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation based in Honolulu, Hawai'i, Pacific Islanders in Communications relies on private donations as well as support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
The funding PIC receives and distributes opens doors for Pacific Islanders to tell the stories of their culture, history, and the challenges they face today. Donations to PIC are used to help Pacific Islander stories reach national audiences through funding for productions, training and education, broadcast services, and community outreach. Beyond mere funding, PIC provides guidance and leadership to ensure that projects are professional, successful, and sincerely reflect the lives and values of Pacific Islanders.
Although PIC accepts donations of any amount, several donation programs have been created to help PIC supporters receive information on the impact of their donation. Contributions are tax-deductible.
