A lowly, soft-spoken janitor works in Waikīkī, surrounded by speedy Japanese, overweight
Americans, and displaced Hawaiians. To keep from going insane, he channels his perspective
of the overbearing city by writing poems. A run-in with an old homeless man one fateful night
leaves the janitor scarred with a haunting memory that awakens his humble voice.
