NMC at the 2014 PBS Annual Meeting
PIC staff recently returned from the 2014 PBS Annual Meeting, which took place in San Francisco, CA. This annual gathering of public television professionals and decision makers representing PBS stations and content providers provides lots of opportunities to share upcoming content and make those important face-to-face connections that those living in the Pacific Islands often don't get to make.
The National Minority Consortia (NMC), of which PIC is a part, presented five excellent programs that are coming soon to PBS. LPB Executive Director Sandie Viquez Pedlow spoke on behalf of the NMC - five separate organizations that work with filmmakers nationwide to bring content to PBS that reflects the voices and visions of our vast multicultural landscape.
The programs highlighted include:
American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs - Center for Asian American Media (CAAM)
Now En Español - Latino Public Broadcasting
180 Days: Hartsville - National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC)
Family Ingredients - Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC)
Across the Creek - Vision Maker Media (VMM)
