PIC Community Toolkit

Posted on September 19, 2017

America and the Pacific region more broadly are an especially diverse vibrant part of the world. Pacific Islanders are a key part of that energy and identity, yet we see and hear them only rarely in our national media...

Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) is here to support media content and human talent that work together to promote a deeper understanding of Pacific Islander history, culture, and the contemporary issues that define our communities.

We do this by funding independent producers to create media, and by presenting innovative media by and about Pacific Islanders on PBS stations nationwide, including the series Pacific Heartbeat and Family Ingredients.

PIC is committed to building community with other groups and organizations in media, community organizations working to support Pacific Islander issues, and other groups working across cultures toward a community of inclusion.  Toward that end, we've created a Community Toolkit, which is a brief guide that offers a glimpse into PIC's work, and tools and resources for engaging with our video.

Download the PIC Community Toolkit.

PIC is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
