Pacific Islanders in Communications' Series Acquisitions for PH Season 7- July 31
Pacific Heartbeat is a nationally distributed public television series produced by PIC in partnership with PBS Hawaiʻi and is presented and distributed by Boston-based American Public Television. It is an unprecedented collection of critically acclaimed documentaries centered on the Pacific Islander experience. From revealing exposes to rousing musical performances, the series features a diverse array of programs intended to draw viewers into the heart and soul of Pacific Island culture.
HMM Series Workshop - July 29 Intellectual Property for Content Creators
This workshop will provide a bird's eye view of the IP landscape for content creators. We will define and discuss copyright, trademark and right of publicity in the United States. This session is for information and education purposes only. Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective - Application due, August 1
BFC is a tight-knit community of professional filmmakers who are dedicated to mutual support through weekly peer workshops to provide sustained feedback for its member projects. We are actively seeking new members who can add unique perspectives to our existing community. Filmmakers of color, women, immigrants, LGBTQ, low income, and others who identify with underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

LA Skins Fest - September 22
The LA SKINS FEST annually showcases works by independent Native American filmmakers that provide insight into the beauty, complexity and diversity of Native American people. The festival offers filmmakers an opportunity to show their work so audiences of all ages and interests can enrich their experience and understanding of Native American cultures.
Adventure in Motion Film Contest - July 31
Adventure Travel is proud to present the fourth year of the Adventure in Motion short film competition, made possible by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), AFAR, and ExOfficio. Tourism organizations and businesses with short films created in the last year that inspire viewers to experience adventure travel are encouraged to enter the contest.
Worldwide Women's Film Festival - October 1
Be part of the first Worldwide Women's Film Festival. Its mission is to educate, support, and empower women in the collaborative endeavor of filmmaker while it shines a light on women's stories and diverse experiences
FIFO 2018 - Deadline October 1
The FIFO canoe is continuing its journey in our islands or beyond our reefs as we are already preparing the next event. The 15th FIFO will be taking place from 3-11 February 2018 at Te Fare Tauhiti Nui – Maison de la Culture, in Papeʻete, Tahiti. While the festival teams armed with images from FIFO travel around Polynesian islands in Oceania and around the world, the film entries for FIFO 2018 are open! Filmmakers are invited to submit their films for consideration for next FIFO.

Neighbour: BBC World Services - Sundance Institute Collaboration - July 31
BBC World Service and Sundance Institute are collaborating on a new, nonfiction radio broadcast and podcast series to launch in 2018. We are seeking creative and ambitious storytelling on the theme of ‘Neighbour’. BBC World Services are inviting original, essential and thought-provoking submissions for audio documentary stories and treatments that explore the world as we experience it today.

2018 Accelerator Lab - Chicken & Egg Pictures - July 10
The Accelerator Lab is focused on identifying and supporting women nonfiction directors working on their first or second feature-length documentary. This program brings together ten projects helmed by first- or second-time directors, with a special focus on underrepresented voices.
South Dakota Change Network - July 12
This cohort-style program will enable 15 participants to build their self-awareness, leadership and systems change skill sets. You will enter a safe and supportive learning environment and receive resources that enable you to create changes within your community and/or organizations to tackle problems, support inclusion and view situations from multiple perspectives.
Women and Hollywood's First-Time Female Filmmaker Contest - July 25
In celebration and recognition of Women and Hollywood’s 10th anniversary, we are launching a short film contest for first-time female filmmakers. The objective of the contest is to help build the pipeline and to give female filmmakers the opportunity to have their work featured on a large digital platform and at a national event.
