Funding Deadlines

Full Circle Fellowship Support by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation - Sundance Institute - Nov. 14 

Supports the next generation of Native American storytellers. This fellowship will provide opportunities to explore a career as a filmmaker and storyteller. 

Documentary Fund - Sundance Institute - Open Deadline

The Sundance Documentary Film Program supports non-fiction filmmakers worldwide in the production of cinematic documentaries on contemporary themes. Established in 2002 with founding support from Open Society Foundations, the Program is a vibrant global resource for independent non-fiction storytelling. Recent projects include The Square, The Queen of Versailles, Rich Hill, The Invisible War and The Genius of Marian.

 

Film Festivals 

Hawaii International Film Festival - Nov. 3-13 

As the vanguard forum of international cinematic achievement in the Asia-Pacific region, Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) endeavors to recognize new and emerging talent, promote career development and original collaborations through innovative education programs, and facilitate dynamic cultural exchange through the cinema arts.

Pacific Showcase at the Hawaii International Film Festival, Sponsored by Pacific Islanders in Communications - Nov. 3-13

International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam - Nov. 16-27

Since its launch in 1988 IDFA has been one of the world's leading documentary film festivals, dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of ground-breaking creative documentaries. Every year, IDFA welcomes some 3,000 international documentary professionals in Amsterdam for eleven days of films, interactive documentaries, industry events, panel discussions and much more. 

 

San Diego Asian Film Festival - Pacific Arts Movement - Nov. 3-12 

Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts), formerly the San Diego Asian Film Foundation, is one of the largest media arts organizations in North America that focuses on Asian American and Asian international cinema.

Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival - Nov. 10 - 20

The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF) is the first event of its kind in Philadelphia – an award winning film festival celebrating and elevating the Asian American experience. In 9 years, PAAFF is proud to have presented dozens of culturally relevant films and exciting programming to broad and diverse audiences from Chinatown to Center City to UniversityCity.

Vision Maker Media 

Vision Maker Media exists to serve Native producers and Indian country in partnership with public television and radio. Vision Maker Media works with Native producers to develop, produce and distribute educational telecommunications programs for all media including public television and public radio. Vision Maker Media supports training to increase the number of American Indians and Alaska Natives producing quality public broadcasting programs, which includes advocacy efforts promoting increased control and use of information technologies and the policies to support this control by American Indians and Alaska Natives.
