Pacific Islanders in Communications is celebrating 25 years of supporting the advancement and development of Pacific Island media content, talent and community participation.
Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) was established in Honolulu in 1991 as a national non-profit media arts organization tasked with addressing the need for programming that accurately reflects America's growing ethnic and cultural diversity.
The mission of PIC is to support, advance, and develop Pacific Island media content and talent that results in a deeper understanding of Pacific Island history, culture, and contemporary challenges.
In keeping with the mission, PIC helps Pacific Islander stories reach national audiences through funding support for productions, training and education, broadcast services, and community outreach.
As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, we will recognize 25 honorees by releasing our “25 in 25” video vignettes each week that highlight their positive contributions to our mission.
