The conference is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow media makers and representatives of various media industries such as film and video, writing and publishing, news media, digital media, and funders and investors. Everyone welcome! This full day event is meant to empower our community, delve into the work we do using a cultural lens, and build ideas for the future of media in Hawai‘i!
Featuring presenters from all aspects of the media industry, breakout session topics include: funding, media preservation, new media, cultural responsibility, and more. Our lunch presentation will feature an all Maori panel of media makers who will discuss building a native industry.
The conference will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Ala Moana Hotel from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with a reception to follow. This exciting event will be held the day before Hawaii International Film Festival's opening night and is a wonderful start to the HIFF festivities.
